Some of the biggest names in cycling will be in Barrow ready to take on the Tour of Britain as Stage 6 starts from Barrow Town Centre. Cycling fans can once again look forward to welcoming a star- studded line-up of the world’s best riders racing on home roads this September, as the likes of BMC Racing Team, Team Katusha Alpecin and Team Sky return to compete in the 2018 OVO Energy Tour of Britain.
Also competing in this year’s race are Team LottoNL-Jumbo and Team Dimension Data, who have provided the race winners in 2015, 2016 and 2017 (Edvald Boasson Hagen, Steve Cummings and Lars Boom).
Ireland’s Aqua Blue Sport are set to line up for their first-ever OVO Energy Tour of Britain, while the French Direct Energie squad return to the national tour after a seven-year absence.
Domestic interest comes in the form of JLT Condor, ONE Pro Cycling, Madison Genesis and Canyon Eisberg, the four teams who gained selection from those seven British and Irish-registered squads who formed part of a season-long qualification process.
See the riders as they are presented to the crowds from 9.30am at Barrow Town Hall
