Without wonderful volunteers The Tour of Britain, would not be able to deliver the OVO Energy Tour of Britain on to the scale that it is, as they provide crucial support to race organisers, spectators, teams and riders.
Active Cumbria have launched a social media competition to win x2 VIP Tickets to the Tour of Britain Barrow to Whinlatter Stage on the 7th September 2018.
In an effort to promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle and to celebrate the Tour of Britain coming to Cumbria this September, we are encouraging everyone to “get on their bikes”.
We all know that keeping fit is not only good for a healthy body, it’s also great for a healthy mind and can help increase energy levels and an overall feeling of happiness. Cycling is one of the easiest ways to fit exercise into your daily routine because it’s also a form of transport. It saves you money, gets you fit and helps the environment.
The Tour of Britain winners jersey matches the races headline sponsor colour for OVO Energy.
Therefore we are encouraging homes, businesses and individuals to Go Green! for the Tour of Britain
when it comes to Barrow on 7 th September 2018.
Be part of the celebrations by; pegging out something green, making green bunting, putting on your
green clothes or painting your building… use your imagination and let’s make this happen!
Visit: www.facebook.com/visitbarrow and share your picture showing how you or your business plans to go green

Create a display that tells customers you are supporting the Tour of Britain. You could create a green display to match the Tour’s main sponsors, (OVO Energy) and winners jersey colour, create something that is quintessentially British or go for something cycling related.
We want to see how your window display welcomes the Tour of Britain. Find out more at:
Land art has been an age-old tradition of bicycle racing and to mark this the Tour of Britain has announced that it will be holding a competition for the most eye-catching installations at this year’s race.
Local schools, businesses and communities will be encouraged to work together with land owners along the route of the race to produce the best land art, which will be judged by race organiser Mick Bennett, the ITV4 commentary team and representatives from race organisers SweetSpot.
