As part of the Visit Barrow brand, Barrow BID has been working on a tourist leaflet to promote the town and highlight the attractions and events that make Barrow a great place to visit.
The leaflet comprises of 20 pages with information about:
- Town centre shopping
- Eating, drinking & nightlife
- Family & leisure
- The coastline
- Nature & wildlife
- Arts & culture
- Places to stay
10,000 copies of the leaflet have been printed and distributed in 2019 and Barrow BID aim to make the leaflet an annual project in a bid to increase visitor numbers on weekends and boost the economy of Barrow’s town centre.
Colin Garnett – Barrow BID Manager said, “Barrow in Furness has a lot to offer visitors. Our location is close enough to the Lake District National Park for tourists to use as a base when visiting and because we accommodate a large number of contractors through the week, Barrow is able to offer quality accommodation and low prices at weekends. “
What surprises most visitors when they stay in Barrow is the fact that ‘there is more than meets the eye’, we have diverse shopping, bars and restaurants, 60km of coastline, we are ranked no.1 for the diversity of our natural assets in England, we have a rich heritage, a zoo and the only grey seal colony in Cumbria and we have an island with its own castle and king. Barrow isn’t just a cheap place to stay when visiting the Lake District, it is definitely worth a visit in its own right.”
